The National Rifle Associationâ€™s political arm is launching its first ad campaign of the 2016 presidential race, with a survivor of the terror attack in Benghazi urging viewers to vote for Donald Trump.
The ad, which the NRA Political Victory Fund is backing with more than $2 million, is one of the larger expenditures by an outside group on behalf of the presumptive Republican nominee.
The 30-second spot, entitled â€śStop Clinton, Vote Trump,â€ť features Mark Geist, a Marine Corps veteran and security contractor who fought the assault on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya, in 2012 that claimed four American lives, including Ambassador Chris Stevens.
This is the kind of ad that should have run in the 2012 election when BenghaziÂ actually happened. You know, just before the election. If it had, the last four years under President Romney would be a lot different. At least in theory.
Now, cueÂ the left crying and whining about the NRA using their millions of donations (given freely by Americans concerned about their Second Amendment rights, for good reason) as some kind of “complaint” against a white guy saying Hillary Clinton is a burning garbage heap of rancidÂ feces. The left will then pivot to a new AFL-CIO/Planned Parenthood/MoveOn ad. Becuause only groups on the right can be “bias.” Or something.
Yes, we know the NRA has endorsed Trump. You may love that, you may hate that. The point here is the NRA is trying to nail Hillary. Someone has to. We’ll applaud the good punches when we see them. This was actually a clean shot, not a dirty trick as the left will surely claim it is.
