The #FightFor15 in California is causing more layoffs, this time at UC Berkeley. If you're not familiar with UC Berkeley, lemme give you a quick refresher course: they lean more left than Mao Tse-tung. I mean super leftists. Communists practically. They have it wrong on slavery, too (see video below).

Is it the global warming alarmists professors who are getting laid off? Nope. The overpaid gender studies lesbian professors? Nope!

The $15 minimum wage hike in California has sent financially troubled UC Berkeley into decision making mode, and "the people who clean buildings, who work in food services or health clinics,” says Todd Stenhouse, will be the ones without a job.

Nicholas Dirks sent a memo to employees Monday informing them of the job reductions and said they will amount to “a modest reduction of 6 percent of our staff workforce.”

Berkeley employs about 8,500 staffers, from custodians to administrators. Departments on campus were reportedly also told to reduce their budgets by 10 percent in whatever way they wish.

It's funny, but I wonder how many students there rallied on the weekend? You know, because they care about the working class more than we do?

This shouldn't come as any surprise to those of us who have a basic understanding of economics. Businesses, even communist schools like Bezerkely, only have so much money (read Shocker! Economists Find Raising the Minimum Wage Doesn't Help). When you demand they pay people more, not for added value, but because you say so, there have to be cuts somewhere. Math.

Now the gallant efforts of the left will see the poorest, neediest among them without a job. All for what? Feelings, of course. Question: will any of the bleeding heart professors offer to take a pay cut to help fund these poor, now unemployed, people? Hmmm....
