Katie Couric Falsely Claims "Silent Majority" Support "Gun Control." Why She's an Idiot...
There isn't a boogeyman on this planet that leftists love to hate more than the NRA (see Hateful Liberal Edits Dana Loesch NRA Video To Make It Deadly… and MUST WATCH: New NRA Ads Target Hollywood and Failed Gun Control Laws). So it should come as no surprise that Katie Couric, amidst touting her gun control propaganda promoting her totally fair and balanced documentary about the gun debate in America, she took the opportunity to launch right in to an attack...
In "Under the Gun,'' which airs May 15 on Epix, Couric tries to find out why the horrific event had no effect on gun laws."After Sandy Hook, everyone thought this was a watershed moment, (and) something would be done,'' Couric told Matt Lauer on TODAY Friday.
"And then when (the) Manchin-Toomey (bill) died in the Senate, I couldn't understand the disconnect between public opinion and our elected officials, and I wanted to really uncover why nothing was happening with this issue."
She also goes into the leftist nonsense that the NRA doesn't want gun control, “The NRA only represents five percent of gun owners, so there’s this huge silent majority, and they represent common ground.”
Common ground of course includes "universal background checks" which already exist, alongside a laundry list of misleading-bordering-on-fraudulent claims. But hey, who's going to fact-check her? Matt Lauer? That other guy who's on the show but isn't Matt Lauer?
I particularly love how she quotes "a gun owner" whom she interviewed, asking him if he felt that he would be safer in the face of catastrophe if he were armed
"... it is one of the most impactful moments of the film. One of the first things they asked him, because he had a concealed carry permit, but because he traveled from Texas to Colorado, he didn't have his gun. One of the first things they asked him is "would it have made a difference if you had had your gun?" And he said absolutely not! There was so much chaos. They were trapped. More innocent people would have died."
Did you just read what I read?
... more innocent people would have died.
So Katie Couric interviewed a gun owner, who believes himself to be so wildly irresponsible with guns, that the public is better off with him not carrying one.
Does that sound like any responsible gun owner you've ever known? Like ever? In your life? Where is she finding these "average gun owners"?
Everything about her claims is misleading. No doubt that the film will point to the non-existent "gun show loophole" which has long since been debunked in the video below.
