Here's one for our friends in the religion of peace. An armed mob attacked an elderly Christian woman, stripped her naked, and paraded her through the streets.

SPOILER: The armed mob weren't practicing Methodists...

According to the local Orthodox Coptic church and security officials, the assault in the Minya province village of Karma on Friday began after rumors spread that the elderly woman’s son had an affair with a Muslim woman — a taboo in conservative Egypt.

Police have arrested six men suspected of taking part in the violence and are looking for 12 more, the security officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.

President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi called for the culprits to be held accountable and gave the military a month to restore property damaged during the violence, at no cost to the owners.

You'll notice that the first thing the Egyptian President did is go after the culprits and side with the victims, instead of act like nothing happened and be more concerned with not hurting anyone's feelings (read "White House Edits French President from Saying 'Islamic Terrorism" here). Wait, wait, is the Egyptian President less tolerant of Islamic terrorism... than the American President?

MIND BLOWN!

What's most upsetting is that Egypt is supposed to be one of the more "moderate" Islamic countries. Leftists often pointed to it as an example of a progressive Islamic society. Until recently anyway. That, combined with the fact that this attack didn't happen in a back alley, it happened in the middle of the street, in broad day light, surrounded by witnesses (who did nothing) and went on for a while before it was stopped... is scary to say the least.

What in the hell has happened to all of these "moderate" Islamic nations? Indonesia is burning down more Christian churches than ever (Read about that here). In Turkey, they boo'd a moment of silence for lives lost in a terrorist attack (Watch that here). The UAE is literally jailing people for merely offending Muslims (that one can be read here). All of these places have been pointed to as beacons of Islamic progression... so what's happened?

Oooh that's right. It's a myth. It's always been a myth...
