California Outlaws Undercover Videos Exposing Planned Parenthood. A Few Things...
Remember the videos that exposed Planned Parenthood as being butchers who profit off the sale of body parts? Here are a few of them to jog your memory. Well, the state of California is finally taking legal action. But's it not what you think. Or it might be if you're at all familiar with California's socialist ways.
No, California isn't going after Planned Parenthood for obvious wrong-doing. Don't be daft. They're sighting their legal weapons on undercover videos which exposed their deviant ways in the first place. But what about the First Amendment clause about freedom of the press? LOL at you. Laws, schmaws. California is crafting a law that would make undercover videos illegal...
In the wake of an undercover investigation into Planned Parenthood’s fetal parts sales, the California legislature is considering a bill that would criminalize publishing secretly recorded video footage of “health care providers.”AB 1671, which has been backed by Planned Parenthood, would criminalize the publication of confidential interactions with state-licensed medical personnel, including abortionists and clinic staff, punishable by up to one year in prison and a $10,000 fine per violation.
Introduced by Los Angeles Assemblyman Jimmy Gomez, the bill has received criticism from both pro-life activists and those who worry about its potential to chill free speech and investigative journalism.
So basically the law would criminalize journalism, something that isn't lost on the California Newspaper Publishers Association who - while sympathetic to Planned Parenthood - points out that the law "criminalizes news distribution, imposing an unconstitutional restriction on speech."
That includes when SJWs use undercover videos for leftist causes, like PETA or Mitt Romney's 47% comments. For though this law says "health care providers," it might one day say "food providers." Which means any footage an animal rights activist captures of a slaughter house, in order to change how people see their bacon? Might also be banned. Think about that for a second.
Freedom of the press was established to hold people in power accountable. The Founders knew exactly what they were doing. Many of them hated the press. They found the press annoying, wrong, and shifting the narrative. In other words, little has changed. But the Founders also understood the value of a free press, for many of the same reasons they hated the press: exposing injustices, holding the authorities accountable, and shifting perspectives on current events.
Naturally people in power, especially an entity like Planned Parenthood (who rakes in billions), doesn't want their ways exposed to the public. Who did they turn to? Not their powerful, private sector allies like Warren Buffet (though they may have), but to the hammer of the law: the state.
"We don't like that some 20-something young man exposed us as Menegle-like monsters. Make it illegal for us to be exposed." California, for now, is complying with Planned Parenthood's wish. If you're wondering what corruption looks like, here's your sign.
Yes, Planned Parenthood is in it for the money. Watch and learn:
