The all-female Ghostbusters, which has the honor of being the worst-rated trailer in the history of YouTube, has become yet the newest leftist, arbitrary measuring stick as to how "open-minded" are. Because taking a classic film with an all-male cast and transforming it into all-female? Appreciate it or henceforth be deemed a sexist. You cis-scum pig. According to some filmmakers, there's really only one reason not to like it...

“I would assume there’s a very large crossover of people who are doubtful Ghostbusters will be great and people excited about the Donald Trump candidacy. I would assume they are the exact same people."

In other words, people who support Donald Trump have zero taste, zero style zero grace, and are totally afraid of ghosts.

See, this to me is a sign they know the movie is crap. Generally speaking, a quality film doesn't require guilt-shaming audiences into liking it. Pretty sure Spielberg issued the same sorts of warnings for Jaws. If you hated Jaws, it's because you were purely anti-shark. Bigot. Bigot, I say!

So of course reviewers will give Girly Ghostbusteresses a good review no matter how painfully awful it is, because they wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of petticoat history. Other celebrities have to brag about how bitchin it is, out of fear that they'll be shamed by their more liberal colleagues. But we'll just be over here with the extra cash in our pockets, having not seen the dumpster fire of this film. We'll spend our money on more worthy causes, like raising awareness about global gold fish deaths. It's an epidemic. No one talks about it. #DontRushToFlush

As for actual movie-goers? When the audience drops 50% from opening weekend, they'll just have to live with the fact that they're sexists when they vote for Donald Trump. Well, that and how masochistic they are for viewing the film in the first place. But I digress.

“I think people have paid too much attention to just some angry trolls. And it will be judged on its own greatness. The movie comes out, and it will be great, and people will just be happy to have it. It’s not like anybody really cares about a couple of idiots who hold onto the idea that things never evolve.”

I agree that we pay too much attention to trolls. Here's the rub: paying attention to trolls is THE MOVIE'S ENTIRE MARKETING PLAN. Out of a billion Twitter users and a billion people on YouTube, they cherry pick five or six response and claim that if you don't like the movie? You're a Trumper. As if that's some kind of monumental insult.

This also just shows how out of touch the entertainment industry has become. To half the country, "Trump supporter" isn't seen as an insult at all, just a fact. As a matter of fact, the mere idea that Judd Appatow thinks this is an insult just proves what a bloviating turdnugget he is. It's also precisely this kind of arrogance that makes Trump stronger in the polls. Also, did you noticed "The movie comes out, and it will be great, and people will just be happy to have it." Sounds Trumpian to me. Is he using a secret dog-whistle tactic there? The statement was absent a "frankly," but spot on otherwise.
