Not many people believe the "No one in Hollywood knew!" about Harvey Weinstein bit. Mainly because you'd really have to be a stupid idiot to fall for the "No one knew!" about the most powerful man in Hollywood, sexually harassing actresses for decades (George Clooney ‘Claims’ He Knew Nothing of Harvey Weinstein’s Actions. Sure…). Wink wink.

Case in point, this is a pretty specific joke made on 30 Rock a few years back.

"I'm not afraid of anyone in show business. I turned down intercourse with Harvey Weinstein on no less than three occasions. Out of five."

To be clear, us reveling in Hollywood's misery in no way makes light of what Weinstein did. Nor are we making light of the victims who suffered. And that's what all these women are, victims. Full stop.

But as an entity, there is no one more sanctimonious about virtue and how we should live our lives than the entertainment industry. This decades long sex scandal was a big joke to people in Tinseltown until it created bad press. When they couldn't cover it up ignore it anymore, they shoved Weinstein under the bus.

And apropos of nothing, a cease and desist against Weird Al? That man is a national treasure.
