If we've said it once, we've said it a thousand times. Leftists narratives, heralded by the leftist media, painting all cops as racist killers who shoot unarmed black men for sport leads to a toxic environment. At best, officers are constantly second guessing themselves in dangerous situations or altogether abandoning areas of violence (read about that exact thing happening in Chicago), at worse, trigger-happy, vitriolic #BlackLivesMatter protesters arm up and shoot five cops dead.

Which is exactly what happened Thursday night in Dallas, Texas. Following two high profile officer involved shootings in Louisiana and Minnesota, a "peaceful" Black Lives Matter protest occurred in Dallas. Only to be interrupted with shots fired. Warning for videos: these can be disturbing.

Here's what we know so far.

Snipers killed five Dallas police officers and wounded six others Thursday night during a demonstration against shootings by officers in Minnesota and Louisiana this week, the authorities said.

It appeared to be the deadliest attack on law enforcement officers in the United States since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. The shootings, only a few blocks from Dealey Plaza, where President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963, transformed an emotional but peaceful rally into a scene of carnage and chaos, and they injected a volatile new dimension into the anguished debate over racial disparities in American criminal justice.

The Dallas police chief, David O. Brown, said that four people armed with rifles were believed to have carried out the attacks. They positioned themselves in triangulated locations near the end of the route the protesters planned to take.

Chief Brown said the suspects in custody were not providing investigators with many details. “We just are not getting the cooperation we’d like, to know that answer of why, the motivation, who they are,” he said.

Of course this story is current and being updated constantly.

Here's something that will stay the same: When you malign cops as racist pigs, when cops are constantly portrayed as nothing more than Ku Klux Klan members in blue, when cops are repeatedly the subject of witch hunts by opportunistic leftist, politicians (like the mayor of Baltimore or our own President Obama), how can anyone be the least bit surprised when something like this happens?

They wanted to kill cops. They probably felt justified based on how cops have been portrayed. Warning, this is graphic:

Are some cops bad people? Yes. But the vast majority of police officers joined the force to protect people. They joined the force to protect civilians of all races. You know how I know that's true? Because reports of bad cops make the news. The good cops? No one ever hears about those guys. Probably because it's MOST OF THEM.

Police officers have a mentality to PROTECT and to SERVE. Yet our leftist political leaders despise unity as much as they despise freedom. In an effort to create more racial division, they've politicized every single officer-involved shooting (if it happens to be a black person and a black person only) into a case of racism. Waiting for facts? Never. PUSH THE NARRATIVE.

Black Lives Matter? Blood on its hands. Irresponsible, narrative-pushing media? Blood on its hands. Political leaders who leverage this racial division for their own gains? Blood on their hands.

Oh that offends you for me to say? I walk it back zero. Are the shooters here the ones ultimately responsible? Yes. I want to make that clear. Because no, not all Black Lives Matter protesters want to kill cops. But a lot of them have called for it. No, not all media members want cops dead. But they've painted cops as monsters. They've triggered a dangerous attitude toward cops, making all police officers seam like racist killers. They've instilled real hatred in people who want to be avenged. For crimes that are often fabrications.

And guess what? Despite officers being the clear target here, despite the police officers being constantly maligned in the media, guess who people turned to during this crisis for protection?

THE COPS.

Guess who protected the protesters who were protesting cops?

THE COPS.

That little tidbit might get lost in all this. Cops, despite being targeted, still protected people. Because protection, saving people, being heroic, is what drives them. Not racism. Not hunting black Americans. Protection.

But now our protectors have targets on their backs.

Pray for America. Pray for our police officers.
