Self defense stories involving guns tend to include boat loads of different types of people. Sometimes it's a petite lady, other times a granny, or even a dude in a wheelchair. #Diversity. No matter the person, they all seem to prove that guns are the great equalizer, helping anyone defend themselves. Regardless of age or physical shape. Take this 72-year-old man, for example. Someone broke into his house and started a fight with him. This older chap would have no way to defend himself, were it not for his gun...

A Waynesville man called 911 and told a dispatcher, "I just shot a guy who broke into my home... I shot three times... He's on my kitchen floor bleeding."

"He woke me up," the man said to a dispatcher. "I don't know how he got in my house but he woke me up. Then we sat and talked. I tried to get him to leave but he would not leave... I told him, 'I'll call the sheriff's office.' He did not leave. Then he started fighting me."

Clearly the man has some health issues - hard of hearing, likely frail in his age. He's ripe for being robbed. Classic candidate for victimhood. Victimhood as in the victims leftists claim to care about... But if the left had its way? Gramps would be waiting helplessly for the cops to arrive. It took them 10 minutes just to get all the information over the phone. That's ample time for a home intruder to rob up the place, or worse.

But this old man wasn't having that. Hence the gun. He opted for self defense, rather than sitting in a duck like manner. Can't say I blame him.

The elderly, like this guy, are the types of people who need guns the most. A physically weak person can overpower a ruthless criminal thanks to the mean boom boom sticks that leftists hate. The time that it takes for a cop to show up seems pretty important in these cases. In that time, the victim can take his chances or offer the criminal a chance to chomp on lead. Most opt for the latter, since it's waaay more effective.

Self defense. It's a thing.
