Trump's State of the Union address was certainly long-winded. We'll give the leftists that batter-fried truth nugget. But the intolerables are complaining the president said "America" too many times. ACLU is an organization filled with the only peoples more despicable than sleazy lawyers: lobbyists. And they have a lots of money to back their less than mature opinions.

Faiz Shakir, national political director at the American Civil Liberties Union, issued the following statement after President Trump’s first State of the Union address:

“Tonight, President Trump said the word ‘America’ more than 80 times in his speech. Yet, after a divisive first year, we hear and feel how exclusionary that ‘America’ is, with policies that have harmed so many vulnerable American communities. The ACLU stands ready to protect these communities, both in the courts and at the polls.

“In particular, the immigration plan put forth by Trump would hold Dreamers hostage to his demands for a harmful border wall and an even larger mass deportation force. We are at this crossroads because of the president’s deeply destructive ideas fomented by his nativist allies and divisive rhetoric. We will continue to stand up for these young immigrants and ensure they continue to contribute to our country. We cannot let America’s Dreamers be deported.”

America is inclusive of Americans. All legal Americans. Immigrants or not. America isn't inclusive, however, of Mexicans. Spaniards. Greeks. Irish. Swedes. Because they are inherently from a country other than America. If said foreiners wish to be included in the country of purple majesty, they must become Americans. Then they would be included in the collective "America."

That paragraph had seven mentions of America. Screw you, ACLU.

A club isn't a club if everyone's invited. There's usually a membership fee, a cost to acquiring the advantages of the organization. Paying one's dues is what keeps the club running like a well-lubricated Ford engine. America is club awesome. To make sure the members of club awesome are taken care of, non-members aren't allowed.

America wants as many great people, from whatever country, we can get. But they must first be legal citizens. This isn't hard.
