Actor Jesse Williams Says 'NFL Standing for the Anthem is a Military Conspiracy!'
The left seemed intent to see who could have the biggest overreaction to Donald Trump and the NFL players kneeling for the National Anthem - but standing for God Save the Queen - was cute. Leftists claiming there was something wrong with players WHO STOOD for the Anthem was a decent attempt. But hang on, Jesse Williams is here to hold your koozie. Remember that guy? (see Uh Oh. Jesse Williams Faces Major Backlash After Racist BET Speech)
He wins.
This anthem thing is a scam. This is not a part of football. This was invented in 2009 from the government paying the NFL to market military recruitment, to get more people to fight wars to die. This is nothing to do with the NFL or the American pastime or tradition. This is to get boys and girls to go fly overseas and go kill people… They’re marketing and pumping millions of dollars into the NFL to get us to put on a pageant in front of the NFL football games to get you to go off and fight.
I love how Mediaite cant even bring themselves to confirm his claim.
Though, this does not necessarily confirm Williams claims, as their information did not include 2009 — which is the year Williams references in the segment. Based on these reports, it appears the Grey’s Anatomy actor received his information from a popular Facebook meme on the issue.
We like memes as much as the next cat video. But to take your entire stance based on a meme? Maybe run a few more Google searches, bro. Then stick to the script.
Also, why is anyone asking an actor, whose entire living is based on reading words written by (often) people who are much smarter than they are, being consulted and asked for an opinion on the NFL at all? I could understand if Jesse Williams was asked for an opinion on which camera lens was most flattering, or the Top Ten Gaffs of Gaffers, but not sure how he's an expert on the NFL.
No, no, anyone can have an opinion on anything, don't get triggered. But why Jesse Williams? Why not Denzel Washington who at least played a football coach in Remember the Titans. I'm just asking is all.
Cheap political publicity stunts are good and all. But if you want to really wow me? Go batsh*t crazy, with a side of conspiracy.
