Corporate media isn't covering itself in glory today. A New York Times reporter provides us with another example, albeit a silly one. Normie Americans are celebrating the Trump-appointed judge brave enough to end Joe Biden's airline mask mandate. People are celebrating mid-flight like we just won the Ukrainian War. And people are having fun with it on Twitter, which back in the day used to be fun.

"I boarded a plane today with my son and mid-flight, the pilot announces that the mask mandate is over. Flight attendants pulled off their masks and sneezed directly into their hands while screaming 'this is MAGA airspace'. My son turned to me in tears. I don’t know what to do."

This humorous tweet draws from two sources. The first is that, at some point, opposing mask mandates became the "conservative" position, and wearing all the masks became the "liberal" position. Jared draws on a liberal stereotype of a Trump supporter who "terrorized" his son. The second source is the Jussie Smollett hate crime hoax, which also fooled corporate media, by saying "this is MAGA airspace.," i.e. "this is MAGA country," as Smollett lied about.

I hate having to explain away a joke. But it's necessary in this instance because the New York Times fell for it. She saw something that validated her confirmation biases about conservatives and Trump supporters and wanted the exclusive. Victoria Kim slid into Jared's DMs.

Jared asks the important question:

"I was wondering how your team deals with the multitude of false stories that you peddle out daily to use as political propaganda?"

It's an excellent question. The answer is that they deal with it by "reporting" anything validating their worldview. Yet, if someone on the right makes a joke about a bird allegedly pooping on Joe Biden, the "fact" "checker" seizes on it like they're analyzing the Zapruder film.

Corporate media views you as the enemy. It doesn't matter if you are making a joke or if you are retweeting videos exposing liberals in their own words. It's who the corporate press is.
