Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Says Unemployment is Low Because Everyone Has Two Jobs
Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the stupidest Democrat of them all? It used to be a two way tie between Maxine Waters and Nancy Pelosi. With Andrew Cuomo butting in, using just his vacant facial expression to beat stretchy and coo-coo Maxine. But a new contender is throwing her safety helmet into the padded ring. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Who yesterday admitted to knowing nothing about Palestine and Israel after pretending to know something about Palestine and Israel. Well, same interview, different question. This time about how unemployment being down is terrible, horrible, no good, very bad news for capitalism.

Ten points to this interviewer for asking this dumb dumb some decent questions.
If your position is "capitalism is bad, socialism is good" then low unemployment numbers need to somehow be spun into doom and gloom. Except people being over-employed isn't an actual problem with capitalism.
Also, the unemployment number has nothing to do with people working two jobs. The unemployment number comes from the number of unemployed people divided by the number of people in the work force.
Plus, people working two jobs hits about 5% of the population:
So it's not even a factor to begin with. But lets say, for the sake of Stupid here, that two jobs is a terrible thing. Even based on this "logic" Ocasio-Cortez is wrong. In fact there are a few ways to look at the "problem" of people working two jobs:
- In some cases, there are more jobs available than people to fill them. Specifically blue collar jobs.
- People have plenty of employment opportunities if they're willing to take them. Which is a variation of the point above.
- "The government must step in to help people find work!" goes out the window when there are plenty of places to work. Socialism depends on people being dependent. And if people are not dependent, socialism's appeal wanes.
- It's not the government's job to pay for you, to help you feed your family, or to increase your wages. That's your job.
Further, compared to every other nation, the United States economy is stronger, thus more beneficial to even our poor.

If you are poor in America, you are still in the top one percent of the world's population, economically speaking. We wrote about this years ago. So really, when we put things into perspective, America's poor aren't poor at all. So really, capitalism isn't a failure. It's a resounding success.
Which I can't say for the braincells in Ocasio-Cortez's noggin.
