Alyssa Milano is leading a random collection of Hollywood celebrities in demanding Joe Biden demand Israel ceasefire. I guess we should consider ourselves lucky. They could have gone with one of those obnoxious black-and-white videos where they repeat the same word over and over. Or sang a Cat Stevens song.

The view of Hollywood is that both sides are wrong. Hamas is wrong for raping, murdering, beheading, mutilating, and kidnapping Jewish and American women and children. Israel is wrong for being upset about it.

"We come together as artists and advocates, but most importantly as human beings witnessing the devastating loss of lives and unfolding horrors in Israel and Palestine."

"We believe all life is sacred, no matter faith or ethnicity and we condemn the killing of Palestinian and Israeli civilians."

I should say I ASSUME the view is both sides is wrong. None of them are denouncing Hamas for raping, murdering, beheading, mutilating, and kidnapping without a "Yeah, but Israel" qualifier.

Dammit. Ok, HERE is a copy of the letter. Lots of "both sides" and "all lives matter." However, as John Ondrasik points out, there are a number of words missing, like Hamas, human shields, beheaded babies, “raped grandmother till pelvis broken”, and so on.

"We stand for freedom, justice, dignity, and peace for all people - and a deep desire to stop more bloodshed. We refuse to tell future generations the story of our silence, that we stood by and did nothing."

M'kay. You added your name to a letter a team of PR professionals wrote for you. It's as close to standing by and doing nothing as you can get without literally standing in the corner and staring off into space.

I don't even know what else to say. I'd say we've seen this movie before. Hamas attacks. Both sides are told to "show restraint." Israel responds. The international community turns on Israel.

But as Israel comedian Tom Aharon explains this time it's different, "You know what Hamas did. You have seen the videos they have shot. You know that nothing -- NOTHING -- could justify it."

Yet progressives activists and Hollywood celebrities manage to find a way to do just that.
