Eight years of Obama was tough. So I understand how the left is still miring in puddles of sad. But the lengths which the left is stretching takes "sad" to levels lower than Amy Schumer's vagina comedy.

Nearly a year after President Donald Trump’s inauguration, a Harvard University professor says 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton could still become commander in chief.

See what I mean? It's been a full year, Newsweek. Trump is president. Sometimes I can't believe it either. While denial and bargaining are necessary steps in the grieving process, giving it a full year is overkill. Like blaming all of your troubles on a Comey letter.

Given that there is “no mechanism in American law for a new election,” nor “a mechanism for correcting the criminal results of the previous election,” Ryan ought to nominate “the person defeated by the treason of his own party, and then step aside, and let her become President,” Lessig went on to say.

Normally I'd go directly to the source material. In this case, the Medium.com essay penned by a Harvard professor. But I wanted to illustrate how it's Newsweek who's showing desperation here. Newsweek is bargaining. Looking for a way, anyway, for the Pantsuted Princess to ascend the Oval Office throne.

On Wednesday, Lessig told Newsweek this scenario was still a possibility.

“This is one way it could happen,” Lessig said. “But that’s very different from saying I think it will happen, or should happen, or [that] the evidence is there for it to happen.”

So here's that same professor, who wrote the essay, trying to tell Newsweek, "Sure, sure, it could still happen. But that doesn't mean it will." No word yet on if Professor Lessig offered the Newsweek staff sugar-free lollipops and security blankets.

Since the essay was published, there hasn’t been “any evidence that’s come out that’s resolved the question, whether there was some conspiracy to steal the election,” the professor said.

Right. There's been no evidence there was any Russian collusion. With how desperately the leftist media hates Trump, dedicating thousands (if not millions) of man hours to the OMG RUSSIA story, one would think any evidence out there would'be been discovered.

Alas, we're one year into Trump's first term. No evidence. Still, Newsweek clings to a world where Hillary wipes away all their fears with a cloth or something. Where terrorist tragedies are blamed on YouTube videos no one has seen. A world in which #MeToo would've never been allowed to rise, squashed by flying monkeys released from Clinton's chamber of rape enablement.

Time to move into the real world, Newsweek. Bring your security blanket if needed. Even if that blanket is sown from retired pantsuits.
