When last we spoke, Andrea Mitchell was lying about Ron DeSantis to the Vice President and Team DeSantis called her out on it. MSNBC's Senior Journalismer has since been forced into an apology, kinda. Yet she is still spreading invalid truths and still getting called out.

It begins with Mitchell claiming without evidence that DeSantis didn't want "slavery and the aftermath of slavery" to be taught to school children. She would have gotten away with it too. Except for NBC News then attempted to schedule an interview with DeSantis, and his press secretary put them on blast.

Mitchell was forced to apologize for being "imprecise" in her lie that Ron DeSantis didn't want to teach about slavery. Though she pointed out that DeSantis opposed a single AP African-American History curriculum (DeSantis feels the class should teach kids about history and not Marxist indoctrination or who is smashing who). As well as "the use of some authors and source materials that historians and teachers say makes it all but impossible for students to understand the broader historic and political context behind slavery and its aftermath in the years since."

Swing and a miss.

It's fascinating because Hot Air went deep into the curriculum DeSantis SUPPORTS being taught in Florida. I don't know who these nameless teachers and alleged historians are. But as for what's in the STATE REQUIREMENTS?

Instructional personnel may facilitate discussions and use curricula to address, in an age-appropriate manner, how the individual freedoms of persons have been infringed by slavery, racial oppression, racial segregation, and racial discrimination, as well as topics relating to the enactment and enforcement of laws resulting in racial oppression, racial segregation, and racial discrimination and how recognition of these freedoms has overturned these unjust laws.

Here's another part.

Students shall develop an understanding of the ramifications of prejudice, racism, and stereotyping on individual freedoms, and examine what it means to be a responsible and respectful person, for the purpose of encouraging tolerance of diversity in a pluralistic society and for nurturing and protecting democratic values and institutions.

Saying DeSantis didn't want to teach about slavery is a lie. Saying DeSantis doesn't watch to teach about the effects of slavery is a lie. Mitchell's new complaint is that DeSantis disagrees with progressive activists over what authors and material constitute "history" and which constitute "Marxist indoctrination."

If Mitchell were a journalist, she would know all these things. But she's a journalismer. Whether she knows these things and ignores them OR only knows what progressive PR firms tell her to know is open to interpretation.
