After Comedian Tells Streaming Service to Stick It, He Makes Over a Million Dollars Independently in a Week
Comedian Andrew Schulz had a comedy special all set to go on one of the streaming services when the streamer demanded that he edit out jokes that were going to cause too much controversy. Schulz said no and bought the special back to sell it himself. Less than a week after doing so, he has an extra million dollars laying around.
We talked about this story earlier in the week. Schulz had released an Instagram video, “They said, ‘we can’t put this out, and those jokes are wild, and we don’t want to deal with the backlash, so you’re gonna have to edit it," adding "I’m a very stubborn guy. So, long story short, I took my f*cking life savings, and I bought my special back.”
This is one of the lines they were worried about for the special 🤣🤣🤣.
Shout out the boy that lived tho 🪄.

TMZ is reporting the gamble paid off. Schulz started selling the special for $15 a pop. On the first day alone, he made $500,000 in sales and has made over $1 million in less than a week.
The news outlet also reports that the streaming service was Amazon, which had outbid Netflix. I guess Netflix had enough comedy drama. They always run into "trouble" with Dave Chappelle. A Ricky Gervais special is why some believe the streamer sent a memo warning woke employees. And Bill Burr's new special, I'm sure, will anger all the usual suspects.
Amazon thought they could get into the Andrew Schulz business. Then the Supreme Court did things, and they no longer wanted to get into the Andrew Schulz business.
So, Andrew Schulz is getting into the Andrew Schulz business. It's paying off big time.
