HATE CRIME HOAX: Mississippi Church Member Charged in 'Vote Trump' Arson
Right at the start, I want to apologize if I sound like I'm repeating myself. There's only so many ways to write about Trump related hate crime hoaxes (see Muslim Student LIED About Man Threatening to Burn Hijab and Muslim YouTube Star Kicked Off Plane Because Islamophobia?). This one is the third one this week. I think we may have a fourth story later in the day. Such is the way of intolerant liberalism.
With that out of the way, the Mississippi church that was spray-painted "Vote Trump" and torched? Supposedly by a Trumpian who hates the gays, the blacks, the jews, and fashionable hair choices?
Yeah, about that. As true as Lena Dunham is decent:
A Mississippi man with a prior criminal record was arrested Wednesday in the burning of an African-American church that was spray-painted with the words "Vote Trump," and the church's bishop said the man is a member of the congregation. The state fire marshal said investigators do not believe the fire was politically motivated, but there a signs it may have been done to appear that way.
Translation: the man wanted the vandalism and subsequent pyrotechnics to appear as if an intolerant Trumper did it. Except no. Got caught...
Andrew McClinton, 45, of Leland, Mississippi, is scheduled to make an initial court appearance Thursday in Greenville — the city where Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church was burned and vandalized Nov. 1, a week before the presidential election.
A brief moment of silence for the man whose last name is actually "McClinton." Did he really have a choice? He's been a McClinton his whole life. If he was a McTrump, maybe his life would've turned out differently. A little more fluffy comb-overs, a lot less scorching of buildings. But what difference, at this point, does it make?
Let's be real here. This is less about people committing crimes as much as it is the failure of the media to report said crimes accurately. Cable news and most of the press have made it clear they'll repeat anything that falls in line with their confirmation bias, no journalism asked. How many of these hoaxes were reported and turned into attacks on all Republicans? As this case demonstrates? Meanwhile online rags like HuffPuffMcClinton continue to insist Trump supporters are the violent, intolerant wielders of burn sticks. When it turns out kind of the opposite, actually.
Now ask how many leftist reporters are going to print retractions to their stories and admit "I'm a big stupid idiot?" Don't hold your breath. You may die.
At least the people faking these crimes are starting to be held accountable. You're welcome.
Also, stop it with the "hate speech." It's not a thing, Gretchen. Stop trying to make it a thing.
