Every time I hear the dimwitted Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez open her ignorant mouth, I feel as if my brain cells are being destroyed. She says the dumbest things, and her followers nod along, drooling over their phones as she rambles on Instagram.

But this time, she’s not on Instagram—though, her mass of troglodyte followers are undoubtedly still fawning over her—she’s in the halls of Congress, lambasting government policy as it regards student loan debt.

“This is ridiculous… I’m 32-years-old now. I have over $17,000 in student loan debt… This is unacceptable.”

First, I just want to say, I actually feel ashamed to be the same age as this incorrigible ignoramus. I know my generation is full of imbeciles who think the same was AOC does, but in my head, I like to think I’m in another group. I apologize for my generation, okay.

But, back to the point, why is this unacceptable? Crazy-Eyes Cortez admits that she chose to take out her loan debt. She explicitly says that she made the conscious decision not to attend graduate school because it would mean even more debt. (And though she probably only has a room temperature IQ, if you don’t think a grad school would accept her and let her leave with a diploma, may I just point out, you haven’t been paying much attention to our universities.)

What AOC would like people to believe, though, is that people shouldn’t have to shoulder the consequences of their choices. It’s the same logic that undergirds the abortion debate—in addition to a level of indifference and depravity almost unimaginable—why should someone have to give birth to a baby just because they decided to have sex and get pregnant? It just isn’t fair!

The system is stacked against these poor kids because jobs require “education beyond high school”! Many do, this is true, but it’s also true that many well-paying jobs don’t require such education or only require a two-year degree or technical certification.

“First-generation college students are two times more likely to report being behind on student loan debt.”

And? Maybe they should be more responsible and, y’know, pay their bills. Ocasio-Cortex could easily pay off all of her debt right now if she wanted to! She is paid quite handsomely for being a useless member of Congress.

The fact is, for all the whining about student loan debt, there are plenty of people who do just fine paying back their loans. There are plenty of people who have never had student loan debt because they work their way through college. And there are plenty of people who are massive successes without ever having to attend college.

Student debt cancelation is just another communist apple on a stick, just another way to have the people eating out of the government’s hand. Don’t buy into it.
