Watch: Who Is Argentina's New MAGA President Javier Milei And Why Are So Many Americans Excited?
Argentinians elected based candidate Javier Milei by 56 percent of the vote on Sunday. Today’s show gets into that.
Sergio Massa, Milei’s opponent, outpaced him by five points in last month’s race, which led to a runoff that took place yesterday.
Milei ran on a radical economic reform plan that pledged to crusade against the creep of socialism in society. He proposed shutting down the central bank, abandoning the peso, and severely cutting government spending.
Trump congratulated Argentina’s Milei following his victory.
“Congratulations to Javier Milei on a great race for President of Argentina,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “The whole world was watching! I am very proud of you. You will turn your Country around and truly Make Argentina Great Again!”
Argentina’s inflation has hit 143 percent. The county has deeply subsidized healthcare, energy, universities, and public transportation, all of which are funded by the printing of more Pesos because that is the only way the government can afford it, according to Harvard Review.
In other words, the government has been printing money for social services, which subsequently crashed the economy.
"I wish I hated anything, or loved anything, as much as this guy hates the left,” Crowder said.
“You can’t give sh*t leftards an inch,” Milei said in an interview. He clarified that he was referring to “all collectivists, all kinds of collectivists.”
Milei is a self-described “anarcho-capitalist and promised to slash public spending and abolish the central bank.
"If you see something that seems to be a centralized economy doing well, you see the left point to it as a success, just add time,” Crowder said.
According to AP, News hardly any political expert believed he had a real shot at becoming president.
"My one concern is that they do not have a constitution. That is why it lends itself to extremism,” Crowder said. “It happens a lot more in South America just like it happened a lot more in Europe.”
