Our Woke Military: Army Commander Relieved of Duty for Being Too ‘Old School’
No institutions are safe from the changes occurring in our culture. None. Recently, we've seen a Marine lieutenant colonel court-martialed for asking commanders to take responsibility for the clown show that was the withdrawal from Afghanistan. Before that, another lieutenant colonel, this one in the Space Force, was relieved of command after writing a book about how Marxism had infiltrated and was taking over the military. Now, Lieutenant Colonel Sean McBride of the 602nd Aviation Support Battalion has been relieved. His violation? Not giving soldiers the warm-and-fuzzies.
Lt. Col. McBride and his senior noncommissioned officer Command Sergeant Major Mario Salomone III, were initially suspended when an anonymous report was received alleging the command team demonstrated "racism, bigotry and discrimination," a serious charge, no doubt, if it could be substantiated. The problem was it couldn't be.
The command team was subsequently investigated, and no evidence could be found supporting the original allegations. And though that should have been the end of it, it wasn't.
Lt. Col. McBride derided the conduct of the higher command for tweets published on their official account slandering him as racist, which was ultimately found to be a baseless accusation. CSM Salomone III was reinstated but quickly replaced. And Lt. Col. McBride was permanently relieved for "lack of confidence in [his] ability to continue to command and lead a battalion." Sound familiar? This was one of the reasons given for relieving Lt. Col. Scheller, the Marine who was critical of the commanders in Afghanistan.
But what did the investigation actually find to lead to such a determination? Lt. Col. McBride had an "abrasive leadership style, similar to what was previously acceptable in the Army," an "old school" leadership style. Translation: he didn't give soldiers that warm and fuzzy feeling they expected to have in the military. Maybe he raised his voice—which we know should never occur in the military—and they felt he was mean…
This is our new military, ladies and gents. While China seeks to build up a force, we have soldiers who are soft in both heart and mind. We have leaders who fail in the worst possible ways. And we have the highest levels of the military actively attempting to rid the military of leaders who are stemming the tides of this pernicious movement.
War is always an inevitability. It's just a matter of time before something happens. And that might be tomorrow, or it might be decades from now, but we need to be prepared to defend this nation when it does happen. If this pattern continues, I fear we won't be capable of doing that. Our military is engaged in its own handicapping and destruction, and we will all reap the fruits of such vicious seeds sooner or later.
