Jeff Sessions Announces End of DACA. Cue Leftist Outrage.
Crying. Screaming. Hysterical hiccuping. With the threat of DACA's end, the left is losing hydration through a myriad of tears (see YES: President Trump INCREASES Deportations of Once Protected DREAMers and PUSHBACK! Student Government Says HECK NO to ‘Sanctuary Campus’…). It's going to be a long week.
Are you ready for immigrant sob stories? Cause Jess Sessions just announced the end of DACA.
I am here today to announce that the program known as DACA that was effectuated under the Obama Administration is being rescinded. This policy was implemented unilaterally to great controversy and legal concern after Congress rejected legislative proposals to extend similar benefits on numerous occasions to this same group of illegal aliens.
In other words, the executive branch, through DACA, deliberately sought to achieve what the legislative branch specifically refused to authorize on multiple occasions. Such an open-ended circumvention of immigration laws was an unconstitutional exercise of authority by the Executive Branch.
The effect of this unilateral executive amnesty... contributed to a surge of unaccompanied minors on the southern border that yielded terrible humanitarian consequences. It also denied jobs to hundreds of thousands of Americans by allowing those same jobs to go to illegal aliens.
Roughly translated: Obama's an ass who wanted to score cheap political points (and votes) by disobeying the law. Now we're rolling it back. As he never had the authority to push this in the first place.
Sessions used positive trigger words like "compassion" and "saves lives," borrowing some clever narrative cues from leftist snot wads. Who'll be sure to throw all the tantrums.
But let's get back to Sessions.
Enforcing the law saves lives, protects communities and taxpayers, and prevents human suffering. Failure to enforce the laws in the past has put our nation at risk of crime, violence and even terrorism. The compassionate thing is to end the lawlessness, enforce our laws, and, if Congress chooses to make changes to those laws, to do so through the process set forth by our Founders in a way that advances the interest of the nation.
Live shot of all leftists everywhere:
Spoiler alert: Laws are not about feelings, sob stories, or your ability to virtue signal from your house, which probably has locks on the doors. To prevent people from entering illegally. So...
Is it sad that some people might be deported because they're parents chose to flagrantly disobey immigration laws? Sure. Are the lives of Americans and laws of America subject to the feelings of people who should never have been here? No. Will the left tell countless sob stories about Julio and Juanita who just wanted a better life? Yes. Is there an asterisk by any immigration law saying that "you should totes ignore this law if Julio and Juanita have feelings too, stop it you bigoted heathen"? No.
Feelings and sob stories, virtue signaling and awareness ribbons have no place in American law. What does belong in American law, immigration or otherwise, is seeking the protection of the American citizens first and foremost. The lives of Americans matter more than the feelings of non-Americans. Even if they're swell people destined to stand on the stage of the DNC this 2020.
