Lockdowns have everyone on edge these days. This probably couldn’t be more true than in Australia, a country that has gone from “check out that wallaby over there” to “let me check your papers” in 3.7 seconds flat.

While some people have started to push back on the tyrannical mandates put in place by the Australian government, others might be snapping.

On Jan 2, around 8pm local time, a man appearing to be intoxicated screamed about COVID mandates and vax IDs before dumping gasoline on his car and himself and sparking up, reports the New York Post.

“He poured gas on himself and on his car. It was on purpose. […]He was screaming about mandates. […] He was screaming ‘No vax ID,’ and throwing books.”

A video of the blaze was caught on camera.

The man was restrained, put out, and transported to the hospital, where a spokesperson has said he is currently in “critical but stable condition.”

Look, I understand everyone is under stress. Governments around the world are run by idiots and fascists and we all just want the insanity to end, but lighting yourself on fire isn’t the best form of protest. Or at least I don’t think it is.

Please, don’t light yourselves on fire. I’ve never done it, but I’m guessing it would hurt really, really bad.
