WATCH: Avengers Call Fictional Black Widow a "Slut"... Liberals Lose It
If their reaction to the Avengers press junket is any indication, liberals really need to switch to become adults. We talked yesterday about a liberal activist super serious reporter trying to out Robert Downey Jr. as a conservative. Now, the left is microagressing in their shorts over an OBVIOUS joke...
Of course, both actors publicists apologized for them without them knowingoffered apologies, though Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) offered his with the sarcasm it deserved.
“I am sorry that this tasteless joke about a fictional character offended anyone. It was not meant to be serious in any way. Just poking fun during an exhausting and tedious press tour.”
It's getting to the point where the left is beyond parody. Beyond comedy, even. Actually, we're past that point. That line you cross between legit outrage and me laughing at you, well, look behind you... there's the line. A slutty line, with a prosthetic leg. I don't care how into "gender studies" you are. If you were honestly offended by this, you really needed to go sit in the corner and let the grown-ups handle this big person stuff.
This isn't a defense of the word "slut." Had this been a video from TMZ where either actor was caught being rejected at a bar and went into a tirade calling the woman a "slut" or a "whore," then by all means, protest publicly while they both check themselves into rehab for...whatever actors check themselves into rehab for. It also wouldn't make a lick of sense because, seriously ladies, who would turn down either Captain America or Hawkeye?
And Black Widow is not a slut. She didn't sleep with Hawkeye in "Avengers" or Captain America in "Winter Soldier," and I'm sure she doesn't sleep with Bruce Banner in "Avengers 2." She's just a tease.
She's also a fictional character. Grown-ups know the difference.
