YouTuber cries racism when told she can't film her music video unannounced in the middle of a Target
A YouTuber named Baby Storme showed up at Target with a full dance troupe to film a music video. Security told her she couldn't, and that if she didn't stop, he would be forced to call the police. The security guard has considerably less melanin in his skin than Baby.
And you will totally believe what happens next:
Sportskeeda reports Baby Storm is apparently an up-and-coming singer, and was shooting a video for the song "The City is a Graveyard." She had shot a video in an actual graveyard and was shocked people felt that was classless. I'm not sure what Target has to do with the lyrics. Also, I don't care. But the way things work professionally? You get permission first before using someone else's place of business for profit.
You schedule a time when the store is closed off, are able to set up your production, and film. Possibly shoot the video after hours. Oh, and you pay the store for the time. Either Target forgot to tell the security guard this was all happening. OR the entitled Baby felt she could show up and do whatever she wanted.
When she was told no, "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACISM."
Not everyone felt the security guard was being racist as much as he was doing his job.
The worst thing is that there's an above-average chance the security guard will get fired for doing his job. After all, this is Target. A publically traded global corporation. Not letting a double marginalized person (black and woman) do whatever she feels like isn't equity and is very problematic.
