It takes an incredibly deranged person to feel as if you can revoke restroom privileges for first graders, or anyone for that matter. However, a teacher at Conroe Independent School District did just that but fortunately, she was rightfully fired.

Ashley Barrera, a first-grade teacher at Bartlett Elementary School became infuriated because a six-year-old student accidentally lost the bathroom pass. However, the fact that she did not predict that six-year-olds may lose a dumb pass shows how unqualified she was to teach. Nonetheless, this incident infuriated her and she decided the logical thing to do was punish the entire class, preventing them from using the restroom.

And I do not have to tell you how deranged it is to punish everyone for one individual's actions, which was not even warranted to begin with.

What was her thoughts in that moment? Was it, “WOW! I cannot believe a six-year-old lost my stupid piece of paper. And because of that, everyone shall suffer!!”

Like what?!??!

You don’t force young children like this to hold in their bodily waste and expect them to do anything but have accidents themselves. And that is exactly what happened. Thus, she decided to continue to victim blame her students.

According to the Texas Scorecard:

Ashley Barrera, a first-grade teacher at Bartlett Elementary School, notified parents around 3 p.m. that she had revoked bathroom privileges for the entire class.

Trinity County Media obtained a screenshot of the text from Barrera explaining that a missing restroom badge led to her denying bathroom access for the afternoon. Students soiled themselves when they could no longer hold their bladders.

Hello parents. I want to inform you about an incident that happened today. Today my class lost their privilege to use the restroom during class, because they lost their restroom badge while being in the hallway. Unfortunately, we had some friends who needed to use the restroom and ended up peeing on themselves. I do want to apologize for that incident. I had [a] talk with the students about how important it is to use our thing appropriately, but please have a talk with them about that as well. For I know that if we both help them understand the rules, they will understand it better. Again, I apologize for those who had an accident, please know that they will have new badges tomorrow. Thank you. Feel free to call me if you have anything to discuss.

Who the heck cares so much about a bathroom pass that they proceed to torture little kids like that? This truly is unhinged and concerning that someone with that mentality wanted to be around young children.

Another parent, Ashley Chancey, said her son, who was in the classroom, came home upset and mentioned that the classmate sitting next to him was unable to hold it.

She also told KPRC the story she received, saying, “He kept trying to tell me that something pretty bad happened at school today. I kept telling him ‘Please calm down and just talk to me.’ He said the class erupted in laughter as kids that are seven [years old] do. And the little girl was just absolutely mortified. He said there was urine all over the little girl. There was a puddle of urine under the chair that nobody came to help with, and nobody came to clean her up for the remainder of the day.”

I always thought it was bizarre that teachers refused bathroom access for students, especially at such a young age. And this story proves exactly what is wrong with that thought process.

Are these people so miserable that this helps them create the illusion that they have the least bit of control over their lives? Regardless, at least she was fired and hopefully, she is never hired to be around minors again.
