UK's BBC: No more recklessly calling people "transphobe" after we've had to apologize to JK Rowling twice

The BBC has sent a memo to all presenters that they can no longer let accusations of transphobia go unanswered after the network was forced to apologize to JK Rowling one too many times. Note: "presenter" is what the UK calls TV reporters. In America, people reading other people's words off of a teleprompter are called "journalists" and/or "freedom fighters." The UK goes with a more accurate term, since they are only "presenting" what they are told to say.
Deadline is reporting that in a nine-page memo about "reporting sex and gender," presenters are told “care is needed” when people are labeled “transphobic” and that the people using the word should be interrogated on-air. You know, since the topic has proven to be a challenging area for what is called in the memo "BBC journalism."
It's not that the BBC doesn't think people who believe boys and boys and girls and girls AREN'T transphobic. It's just that, besides having to apologize to JK Rowling, the narrative isn't working out in their favour. Yes, I spelled "favor" with the extra "u" since we're talking about the Brits.
The guidance follows the BBC apologizing to Rowling twice last year. The Harry Potter author was accused of transphobia by trans rights advocates, but the claim was not properly challenged by presenters, including Radio 4’s Evan Davis.
The briefing note was issued to help journalists navigate what BBC director general Tim Davie described this week as an “area of controversy.” He told lawmakers that the BBC’s detractors were attempting to whip up a “deeply damaging” narrative around the corporation’s output on gender identity issues.
The JK Rowling thing will never not be funny to me. Harry Potter fans went from identifying as Hogworth's sects to resist Donald Trump to viewing Rowling as the Head Transphobe In Charge, all because she defended a woman who got fired for "misgendering" and refused to be bullied into an apology.

I wonder how much of this really has to do with JK Rowling. The BBC is government-owned. One of the many, many, many areas where progressive cunts (again, I'm using the Brit version of the word) will claim you are phobic of trans is if you think minors shouldn't be given life-altering, irreversible, puberty blockers and/or be allowed to mutilate their genitals.
However, the UK just announced they are BANNING the prescription of puberty blockers to minors, deciding to follow the science instead of the follow the politics. Now when activists haphazardly throw accusations of "transphobia" around, they aren't just talking about someone who has common-sense views of sex and gender. They're talking about the government.
The BBC never cared when it was only JK Rowling being labeled a -phobe. To be fair, neither did Rowling. I'm sure every time she gets attacked at this point, she does snow angels on a giant pile of money just because she can.
