Ben Stiller won't bend the knee to the woke mob, refuses to apologize for 'Tropic Thunder'
The movie Tropic Thunder is fifteen years old this year. And, if you'll excuse me, I just discovered arthritis in a new joint. It's one of two movies, the other being Blazing Saddles, that is regularly the target of CANCELATION on the internet because the comedy doesn't match with 2023's soy-based sensitivities. There are two main reasons. One is Robert Downey Jr. playing a British dude playing a black dude in blackface (he's a method actor). The other is Ben Stiller playing a word that will get us dinged on Facebook,. We have a clip of it a little later.
Rest assured, though. Ben Stiller (when he's not making Adam Sandler's daughter's favorite movies) REFUSES to apologize for making the Tropic Thunder. Contrary to what you may have heard on the bird app.
@BenStiller Please stop apologizing for doing this movie. It was and still is funny AF... Even funnier now with cancel culture the way it is. It's a MOVIE. Ya'll can just get over it. I was DYING laughing when I first saw it back in the day and so was everyone else. pic.twitter.com/HEyR0ztQD4

Here's that clip I was talking about.
Tropic Thunder (5/10) Movie CLIP - Never Go Full Retard (2008) HDyoutu.be
What happens is that, much like Blazing Saddles, it is believed that Tropic Thunder needs to be canceled. So much so, Robert Downey Jr. playing a black dude is holding up a Jamie Foxx movie where he plays a Mexican dude from being released. And you know how Twitter gets. One person tweets Ben Stiller demanding he apologizes. Another person responds by saying "there these cancel culture vultures go again." Next thing you know, Johnny and the Mothers are having a performance of "Stompin' at the Savoy" canceled in Vermont.
Ben Stiller makes NO apologies. He doesn't apologize for Donald Trump being in Zoolander, and he doesn't apologize for this: "I make no apologies for Tropic Thunder. Don’t know who told you that. It’s always been a controversial movie since when we opened. Proud of it and the work everyone did on it."

It's one thing to say you can't make Tropic Thunder, or Blazing Saddles, or The Office these days (which is all stupid). It's another to lecture people that they can't enjoy them anymore. And demand filmmakers apologize for their art that is at least over a decade old because someone decided over the past year or two they no longer find it funny. Thankfully BennySings was acting on bad intel.
