Turn on a lefty news network right now and you'll probably hear about Trump ripping illegal kiddos away from their parents and locking them in cages. A sure sign of a Hitlerian meanypants who kicks puppies. Even the Bern is getting in on the action.

Comrade Sanders took to the Twittersphere to slam the Donald for sullying the reputation of "compassionate" America:

“This is America, a nation of compassion and generosity,” the socialist senator wrote on Twitter. “We will not allow Trump, Sessions or anyone else to continue a policy of ripping babies from the arms of their mothers. Together, we will defeat this inhumane and un-American action.”

There's just one problem:

When former Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price described America as a “compassionate society” during his confirmation hearings in January 2017, Sanders insisted that Price was wrong.

“Our record is worse than virtually any other country on Earth and half of our senior workers have nothing set aside for retirement, so I don’t think compared to other countries we are particularly compassionate.”

I'd love to have an inside view to Bernie's thought process through this flippery. "America is a sh*thole full of greedy capitalist pigs with no compassion. On the other hand, I'm in need of a grandstanding tweet against my carrot-colored foe. To hate America or not to hate America, that is the question."

It's amusing how leftists' opinions change on a whim to suit their needs. When it's politically expedient, America is a year-round suckfest for not being socialist enough. At other times, we're a compassionate people who would never let a sitting president enforce our immigration laws.

The Bern is trying to score votes appeal to America's compassionate side with this Twittery. Though, I don't think anyone is fooled for even a second by his newfound appreciation for the American way. We all know how he really feels.
