BET Founder Bob Johnson Weighs In: 'Give Trump A Shot...'
Leftists seem to think life is like Burger King: you can always have it your way. But on November 8th, they learned you shouldn't always believe the pretty picture provided to you. In this case the fantasy alternate reality they'd created in their own minds. Their response? About the same as if you told Lena Dunham Dairy Queen is going out of business: An epic tantrum of rage.
But there have also been voices of reason on the left. Like BET founder and Democrat Bob Johnson. He had this to say on CNBC:
Democratic media mogul Bob Johnson told CNBC on Monday that fellow African-Americans should give Donald Trump "the benefit of the doubt," and hope common ground can be reached with the incoming Republican administration about issues facing the black community."Trump is a business guy, and I think he's going to tilt towards finding [a] way to use fiscal policy … to move the economy forward," he said. "Let's give him a shot. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt; see if we can find common ground."
He's right. Black people should give Trump a chance. Leftists have spent fifty years and billions of dollars on welfare programs and affirmative action. Supposedly with the intention of lifting black people out of poverty. Looking at the numbers, that's worked out about as well as the all girl Ghostbusters remake.
Left-wing buttnuggets have used black people for their votes. Every four years Democrats come around making promises. Promises that are never fulfilled, by the way. No matter, every for years the Democrats trot out the exact same promises to the black community. The Democrats are the ultimate in pandering, of course. Proof: Hillary Clinton carries "hot sauce" in her purse. Just like Beyoncé.
Democrats invoke black people's suffering during Jim Crow to justify whatever trendy cause they're pushing that week. Often to the dismay of black people who do not believe every little voting issue is the same as the civil rights era. But nice try.
Trump has laid out the plan for his first 100 days and it's reasonable. Bob Johnson sees that, and is willing to give Trump a chance. A rare thing these days, deserving props. So a tip of the cap to you, Mr. Bob Johnson.
But no tip to Cenk Uygur. Who remains an idiot.
