Whoa: Texas seizes control of border city to stop Biden Admin from letting illegals in, now Biden's DOJ wants SCOTUS involved
In what's being described as potentially the biggest state vs. federal fight in a very long time, Joe Biden's DOJ is dragging Texas to the Supreme Court to prevent the state from protecting its borders and stopping the invasions of illegals. Or, at least stopping the invasion of illegals through Eagle Pass, Texas. Yes, in a border crisis that started with people crossing the border wearing Joe Biden t-shirts, we've gotten to the point of the Biden Admin calling on SCOTUS to stop Texas from protecting the border THAT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHOULD BE PROTECTING.
NEW: In overnight DOJ filing, Feds confirm that the TX National Guard “has deployed armed soldiers and vehicles to block federal gov from accessing the river” in Eagle Pass, & TX informed them no BP agents will be allowed to enter Shelby Park “in any operational capacity”.

Let's step back because while the entire southern border is in crisis - in December of 2020, there were under 74,000 migrant encounters; during December 2023, it jumped to over THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND - Eagle Pass is among the hardest hit. Here is a group of poor and downtrodden women and children, covered in muddy clothes from their treacherous journey, thanking Joe Biden for his hospitality in 2022.

The Texas National Guard had attempted to SEAL the border. Only for Joe Biden's border patrol to come along, cut the locks, and welcome everybody in.
This was the moment Border Patrol arrived with the key and let the migrants in. The landowner allows both TX DPS/National Guard and Border Patrol to work here. Things finally escalated to where Texas said enough is enough. National Guard seized control of Shelby Park in Eagle Pass and told Border Patrol they couldn't come in since the Feds “perpetuate illegal crossings" and the idea is to stop illegal crossing. At least, it is in theory. We call it the Biden Border Crisis, but the word "crisis" would imply that things aren't happening the exact way the progressive twat's who Weekend-At-Bernies'ing Biden around the White House want them to.

The Texas Milliary Department issued the following statement to Fox News:
“The Texas National Guard has maintained a presence with security points and temporary barrier in Shelby Park since 2021. The current posture is to prepare for future illegal immigrant surges and to restrict access to organizations that perpetuate illegal immigrant crossings in the park and greater Eagle Pass area.”
Biden's DOJ filed their SCOTUS lawsuit this morning. Start popping popcorn, as this is a developing story.
