The CDC revised its mask-wearing guidelines this week. They vary depending on if you've gotten between zero and two shots. But you can go maskless outdoors, to the excitement of people who weren't already doing that. Indoors if you got two shots and you're with other people who got two shots, you're both free to show your faces. But Joe Biden is going to ignore the CDC and cover up anyway. In the middle of this gobbledygook explaining why, our president manages to work the words "patriotic duty" into it.

But what I'm gonna do, though, because the likelihood of my being able to be outside and people not come up to me is not very high.

There is a consistent perimeter around you of vaccinated Secret Service agents at all times outside. But please, continue.

So, it's like, look, you and I took our masks off when I came in, because look at the distance we are. But if we were in fact were sitting there talking to one another close, I'd have my mask on, and I'd bet you'd have your mask on even though we've both been vaccinated.

It's a small precaution to take that has a profound impact. It's a patriotic responsibility for God's sake.

So THAT'S why Joe Biden still wears his mask outdoors even when there's no one around! Or when he's on Zoom having a kibitz with the other world leaders! It's not because virtue-signaling gives him the warm fuzzies. Like that "one dream" he has with both Bea Arthur AND Rue McClanahan. You know, the dream where he wakes up and makes Jill have to change his underpants? He doesn't wear a mask for that reason. He wears a mask because of how much he loves America! More so than those of you who enjoy the sunshine on your face outdoors. Joe Biden just cares more.

The obvious issue here is that shutting up and doing what your government tells you, no questions asked, is the EXACT OPPOSITE of your patriotic duty. But also, all this time I was led to understand we should a) trust the science and b) trust the CDC. Now that the CDC is starting to relax guidelines — guidelines that I'm sure were purely science-based this whole time — the word from the president is, "Nah, not yet."

It's almost as if Biden and the people who control Biden want the theater and DON'T want things getting back to normal. I'm not saying I think that's what's going on. I'm not saying I don't. I'm only saying ... our president's an idiot.
