Bill Clinton: Wow, the Obama Economy Sure has Been Terrible...
I don't know if he does it because he's still in apology mode to his wife (see Juanita Broadderick: Bill Clinton Called Me After Raping Me… and Juanita Broadderick Takes to Twitter: “Bill Clinton Raped Me…”) or if it's an ego thing because of how President Obama and the modern Democrat Party bashes his entire tenure, but Bill Clinton has never missed an opportunity to undermine the current President over the past eight years. It feels good to take a break from our own party's dysfunction and laugh again...
“But the problem is, 80 percent of the American people are still living on what they were living on the day before the [2008 financial] crash,” Clinton said to the audience. “And about half the American people, after you adjust for inflation, are living on what they were living on the last day I was president 15 years ago. So that‘s what’s the matter.”Clinton has regularly lambasted the U.S. economy’s performance during Obama’s tenure as president, arguing that conditions for working Americans have not improved and have helped give rise to Donald Trump and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) during the 2016 presidential race.
The former president said last month at a rally in Spokane, Washington that “if you believe we can all rise together, if you believe we’ve finally come to the point where we can put the awful legacy of the last eight years behind us and the seven years before that when we were practicing trickle-down economics and no regulation in Washington, which is what caused the crash, then you should vote for [Hillary Clinton].”
I mean, he's not wrong. But Bill's suggested solution to the problem is merely to replace the current leftist in the White House... with another leftist.
Granted, Hillary could certainly argue the case that she's more moderate than Barack Obama. And she has. This is also indicative of something larger which is incredibly telling. See, when it's not an election year, the Democrat party pretends as though the Obama economy can do no wrong. They make believe that "The Affordable Care Act" is anything short of a disaster. Why? Because at that point, they're merely in automatic PR mode. But when it comes time to run another general election?
They entirely change their tune.
The Affordable Care Act (Obamacare)? It's resulted in such skyrocketing premiums and business owners cutting down on full-time employees that Hillary Clinton has consistently promised to fix it.
Iraq? Don't even get us started.
See, it's one thing to lie to the media and expect them to carry your water. But when your butt is in the hot-seat and you need to convince the American public to vote for you? It doesn't pay to lie about things that are clearly false. Which is why Democrats aren't even trying to keep the facade up anymore.
So they're not trying to convince you that President Obama's been all that great. Now, they're just trying to convince you that they can do it better. Buying that pitch... well that's up to you.
If only there were some example, like a city, where leftist Democrats have entirely had their way for over half a century. An incubator for liberalism if you will, to see how the ideas work long term. If only...
