It's Bill Maher blasting liberal thought leaders like the Huffington Post and BuzzFeed for being fake news. Let's be honest. I could recite Green Eggs and Ham here. You've already gone right to the play button.

Wonder why Fake News resonates so much with Trump fans? Because so much of it is fake. Just nonsense made to keep you perpetually offended with an endless stream of controversies that aren't controversial. And outrages that aren't outrageous. Because places like The Huffington Post, BuzzFeed and Salon, they make their money by how many clicks they get. Yes. The people who see themselves as morally superior are actually ignoring their sacred job of informing citizens of what's important and instead sowing division for their own selfish ends. Hey, wait, isn't that what Russia was doing to us?

Not that LwC isn't sometimes guilty of sometimes doing the same (see Chris Pratt Offers Kevin Smith Prayers, So Of Course the Internet Attacks and Justin Timberlake Tweets, Gets Blasted for Cultural Appropriation). A couple of differences though. One, we're a partisan website. Unlike Huffington Post and BuzzFeed, we don't pretend not to be. And we're a partisan commentary site at that.

The other point is something I mentioned in the outrage over Jon Favreau having a penis. Like it or not, this is the battlefield now. Sites like the HuffPo and BuzzFeed have decided anytime five people tweet the same stupid opinion, it's a news story. Not only is it a news story, but it's a story that proves what the "other side" really thinks. The other side usually being us, conservatives. Or really, anyone who thinks even slightly different than what leftists believe that week. When that happens, we need to push back. If this is the game they want to play, let's play. Or kick over the game board. it depends what kind of mood I'm in.

Everything Bill Maher said about the media is true. And it sucks. But it's where we are.

You just have to fight fire with fire.
