No, there's no strange new respect for Amy Schumer. On a comedic scale, she ranks somewhere between a trigonometry test and a ham sandwich. But I just can't say no to a Bill Maher anti-SJW rant (see A Discussion on Free Speech Between Jordan Peterson and Bill Maher and Bill Maher: You’re Not Woke, You’re Just a Douchebag). Good points are aplenty here:

The Real Time host then plowed through various reviews from The Hollywood Reporter, Rolling Stone, that called it “fat-shaming” and a “questionable message of empowerment.” He blasted The Independent for reviewing not the film… but the film’s trailer, saying it “seems so offensive” that it’s “exhausting.”

“Exhausted by a movie trailer… I think we’ve reached peak snowflake,” Maher reacted.

Maher then slammed the Los Angeles Times criticizing the film for not casting a woman of color, asking “can’t it just be funny?”

Well, here we are. Forced by default to defend Amy Schumer. This is awkward.

Since when was Amy Schumer ever a disseminator of biting social commentary anyway. Her usual schtick is making cringeworthy gross-out jokes about her hoo-hah. How anyone would ever expect a motion picture starring the Schumersaurus to be anything other than a bunch of Schumeresque "jokes" and gags is beyond me.

This is what happens when you choose wokeness over comedy. Amy Schumer was put on a pedestal by the left because she was an unfunny vessel for them to validate their worldview. With all the extra attention, she decided to run with it. Now when she does something slightly less than "woke," those same people are devouring her. Similar to the way she ravages a carton of Haagen Dazs. Sucks to be Amy Schumer.
