Dozens Of Birds To Be Renamed In The Name Of Equity, Their Old Names Were Too "Exclusionary And Harmful" For 2023
This story might be a little too left-wing for you.
Every day we see more and more people who are unfortunately suffering from bird-brains, with no sign of slowing down.
Earlier today, we reported about math being racist. But that’s not the only subject in academia that is infested with white supremacy.
Would a caged bird that’s released know that it is free? Does knowledge of freedom create it? Well, it doesn't matter because, in case you haven't heard, birds are racist.
The American Ornithological Society (AOS) plans to change the names of all the bird species named after people, because maybe, just maybe, that might finally end racism once and for all.
“There is power in a name, and some English bird names have associations with the past that continue to be exclusionary and harmful today. We need a much more inclusive and engaging scientific process that focuses attention on the unique features and beauty of the birds themselves,” AOS President Handel said in a statement. “Everyone who loves and cares about birds should be able to enjoy and study them freely — and birds need our help now more than ever.”
This caused so many people to suffer sleepless nights. It’s about time we got to work on the real issues at stake in society.
All jokes aside, there literally is zero power in a name, especially a bird's name.
In a news release, the organization said it will remove the names given to birds in North America such as Lewis’s Woodpecker, Townsend’s Warbler, and Anna’s Hummingbird, and instead will name them by the geographic jurisdiction.
“When it was brought to our attention that some English bird names were viewed as harmful or exclusionary, including some named after people who were perceived as symbols of racism and colonialism, the AOS worked hard to reconcile its commitment to uphold stability in taxonomy and names while also addressing concerns of historical biases and social injustices,” according to its website.
Although the organization plans to change the name of nearly 80 bird species, they already changed one name in 2020 when they renamed a small prairie songbird found on the Great Plains to “Thick-billed Longspur.”
The bird’s original name honored a man named John P. McCown, who became a general in the Confederate Army during the Civil War—and was perceived as a “painful link to slavery and racism.”
The organization hopes that by doing this, it will create a more inclusive environment for people of diverse backgrounds.
This is not the first time we have reported about racist birds.
Just a couple of weeks ago, we reported about an LA Times article that claimed the whiter an area is, the more diverse the bird population is. Which subsequently makes birds racist, according to the outlet.
This is not some feathered fiction. At this point, every bit of history will be purged until it conforms to the woke mob's demands.
White people are always assigned blame because of the bad actions of their ancestors.
But obviously, none of the left’s white saviors will ever be blamed for anything.
Not only racism, but racial extermination was an main feature of Charles Darwin's theory. But I highly doubt we will be erasing that part of history, will we?
What about Margaret Sanger? She was motivated by racist eugenics, but I highly doubt we will be doing much of anything in regard to Planned Parenthood.
How many people even know who a bird is named after? Close to zero.
This honestly has nothing to do with birds and almost everything to do with dramatically changing every part of society. The birds are only the beginning of our Orwellian nightmare.
Can we just please get a list of things that aren't racist? That will probably be a lot easier at this point and should help lessen the birden.
