Blame Democrats for Flint Water Crisis says... Michael Moore?
Cities have been electing the same Democrats and, in return, enjoying the same failed policies for decades. You see it in Detroit. You see it in Baltimore. And you also see it in Flint, according to... Michael Moore?
Michael Moore took to Twitter to call out Democrats holding a debate in Flint, Michigan tonight. The event wasn’t one of the Original Six debates (most of which were held on weekend dates). Last month, Hillary Clinton, who spent much of 2015 as the presumptive nominee, and Bernie Sanders, the last man standing after the Iowa caucus, agreed to four more debates, including tonight’s in Flint.Flint was chosen in large part because of the media attention surrounding the water crisis (briefly: government providing residents with dirty water and then trying to cover it up), a transparently politically opportunistic move.
Michael Moore pointed out on Twitter that Flint voters’ longstanding support for Democrats hasn’t yielded them much...
Dems control the Dept of Justice. The US attorney is a Dem. If they want to help, arrest the governor. Then send in Army Corps of Engineers.— Michael Moore (@Michael Moore) 1457306067.0
Of course, his spell of sanity is short lived. He then engages crazy pants mode full throttle and claims what happened there is a hate crime. Yeah, it's Michael Moore. What did you expect?
You know it's bad when even hardcore leftists like Moore start to point the finger at someone other than Republicans. How bad does it have to get before Democrats change their ways, or more importantly, their voting habits? The answer is...
... a lot.
If we've learned anything from voting patterns, it's that a metric crap ton of crises like Flint would need to crop up in order for any major change to take place. Of course, the story being pushed here is that mean old Republican Governor Rick Snyder deliberately poisoned the good people of Flint, just because. And racism.
It's true that, yes, Governor Snyder is a Republican (though he is the definition of a "RINO"). You know what else is true? That western and northern Michigan don't have these problems. At all. Grand Rapids was ranked the #1 place to raise a family and #1 place to purchase a house. Traverse City (where Michael Moore keeps his multi-million dollar summer estate) has been voted one of the top cities in the US for retirement and just north of there, the Leelanau Peninsula has been voted the most beautiful area in the entire continental United States.
Michigan is actually a pretty damn happy family, with Detroit/Flint being the problem child. They've been acting up since the 60's and the rest of the state is just too afraid to spank their sorry ass. Year after year, things in Detroit/Flint have only gotten worse. So if the rest of the state isn't facing constant peril, what's the common denominator? Come on, think about it. Try really hard, I know you can get it.
HINT: It's not the Republican governor.
Hmmm... Michael Moore may be on to something.
