In our current era of identity politics, "progressives" are hellbent on making everything out to be a double-secret white male supremacist plot. Case in point: this leftist did a study proving *gasp* most players of board games are white guys. Horrific.

Research shows that demographics within the board game industry do not directly mirror that of the population of North America.  Some say this lends itself to the exclusion and “marginalization” of minorities.

Many game journalists and researchers have concluded that the video game industry is dangerously masculine.  The situation is actually just as bad, if not worse, when it comes to traditional board games, according to game researcher Tanya Pobuda, who says that much like the video game community, the world of board games is a “white-male dominated space.”

She hopes the findings of her study will help “move the conversation forward on the issue of representation” as well as catalyze changes in both “industry and hobby.”

I guess I haven't heard about the rule. You know, the rule stopping melanated vagina-havers from walking into Walmart and coming out with a crisp Monopoly board. This is an injustice which must cease at once!

There's nothing stopping minorities from dominating the globe in Risk. Being a greedy, capitalist pig in Monopoly. Prolonging their virginity with fortnightly quests in Dungeons & Dragons. Those games are readily available to all who seek them.

Maybe white boys just like board games more than most minorities. Certain groups naturally gravitate toward certain pursuits, and there's nothing wrong with that. After all, variety is the textbook definition of diversity.

Lefties still don't seem to have gotten the memo. Not everything is racist. There is no conspiracy between Milton Bradley and Parker Brothers to foster patriarchal white supremacy through Battleship. Methinks the left might need to go back to the drawing board on this one.
