Sometimes just the mere threat of deportation does the trick. Not that we shouldn't build a 50 foot wall (we should) but based on recent reports, just talk of a wall plus a swift kick out the country has illegal border crossings way down. Es muy bueno.

Arrests of people caught trying to sneak into the United States across the Mexican border plummeted in March to the lowest monthly figure in more than 17 years, the head of the Department of Homeland Security reported.

That's a likely sign that fewer immigrants are trying to make the trek into the United States.

Oh yes, I'm crying, but the tears are not of sadness but delirous joy. The illegals aren't coming across the border as much as they have in the past 17 previous years. That's a win, any way you cut the burrito.

But less law breaking from their victim base means the left isn't exactly dancing the cha-cha. But it gets worse. If the left's panties aren't bundled in a rectum wad, this little tidbit will provide even more butt-hurt.

Though the Trump administration has not yet changed how the border is patrolled, the president's tough talk on immigration — including plans to build a border wall — and his stepped-up arrests of immigrants living in the country illegally have likely acted as deterrents.

Trump's words. His rhetoric. The raising of fingers for emphatic point making, combined with "really," and "truthfully" for bigly results. It's frankly poetic. The best.

But Trump simply talking about it causing a drop in immigration at the border? I'll take it. Which isn't to say talk is all we need. Our borders need walls. Mammoth ones. Let all who look upon it wet themselves with fear. But buy your diapers in Mexico, not California or Texas.

Until then, let's keep the tough talk and scary words a-coming.
