BREAKING: Fort Lauderdale Airport Shooter Caught After Killing 5. What We Know So Far...
This story is breaking, and therefore at the mercy of the media gods. Who don't always know up from downward-facing dog. Bear that in mind. You've been warned.
A shooter who's now been identified as Estaban Santiago-Ruiz, 26 years-old, has been caught after opening fire at the Fort Lauderdale airport today.

Santiago was an Iraq veteran having served in the country for one year before being honorably discharged in August last year, the Army Criminal Investigation Division confirmed. He had also been a combat engineer in the Army National Guard.
His aunt Maria Ruiz told NorthJersey.com that Santiago had returned from Iraq acting strangely but had seemed happy after the birth of his child last year.
Court records in that state show he had a minor criminal record for traffic violations. He was also evicted by his landlord for failing to pay rent in February 2015.
Santiago was charged with fourth-degree assault and damage of property in January 2016, stemming from a domestic violence incident.
In March, Santiago settled the charges by agreeing to complete unknown requirements demanded by prosecutors in exchange for dismissing the case.
The death toll so far is five, eight others are wounded. Santiago had an active duty military ID on him at the time, but it's not yet known if it was his ID (though it likely was).

Baggage claim area in an airport is a "soft, easy target," FL Sen. Bill Nelson tells CBS News after FL shooting… https://t.co/TuB1qzX5n5— CBS News (@CBS News) 1483735602.0
Here are some details from CBS News:
In Nov. 2016, Santiago-Ruiz walked into an FBI office in Anchorage and claimed he was being forced to fight for ISIS, law enforcement sources told CBS News. He was sent to a psychiatric hospital after police were called, sources said.He was also investigated as part of a child porn investigation in either 2011 or 2012, law enforcement sources told CBS News. Three weapons and a computer were seized, but no charges were filed, sources said.
Sen. Bill Nelson of Florida said it was unclear whether the military ID was the gunman’s.
“We don’t know a motive at this point,” Nelson said. “This could well be someone who is mentally deranged, or in fact it could be someone who had a much more sinister motive that we have to worry about every day, and that is terrorism. We can’t conclude that.”
“After he claimed his bag, he went into the bathroom and loaded the gun and started shooting. We don’t know why,” LaMarca said.
No motive yet. It's simply too early to tell why he did what he did. We're not even one hundred percent sure how this all went down. Welcome to breaking news, ladies and gents. In early reports, news sources were told Santiago arrived in Florida aboard a Canadian flight. But Air Canada said "Nu uh!" and now apparently Delta is the new airline of choice.
We confirm we have no record of a passenger by the name Esteban Santiago, or checked guns, on any of our flights to Fort Lauderdale #FLL 5/5— Air Canada (@Air Canada) 1483738513.0
No one actually knows. You may even be asking "So what do you people at Louder with Crowder know?" It's a fair question. We have his name, and the possibility he allegedly once said he was being forced to fight for ISIS. That raises our spidey senses. What we don't want is for Santiago's motive to get buried in the leftist narrative avalanche of "NRA!" and "GUNZ!" so they can defocus on the ISIS aspect. You may remember the recent Ohio State Shooting, where the media was quick to dismiss Islam entirely, so they could focus on the weapons (hoping it was guns, though it wasn't).
And yes, leftists are already crafting their anti-gun narrative.
THE GUN WAS LEGALLY CHECKED to Fort Lauderdale?! This country needs to wake up & revisit their gun laws IMMEDIATELY!!! IMMEDIATELY.— Tommy DiDario (@Tommy DiDario) 1483735677.0
26-year-old citizen with concealed carry permit; isn't that @NRA's definition of a good guy with a gun? https://t.co/00VLVvFVdk #FLLShooting— Shannon Watts (@Shannon Watts) 1483735063.0
we don't yet know what motivated shooter at #FLL we do know that it's too easy to access guns in America & that our gun laws are too lax— igorvolsky (@igorvolsky) 1483740757.0
But of course, you knew that was coming. Bodies not even cold, leftists gotta shove their narrative that ALL GUNZ ARE BAD YOU GUYZ OH NOES. That's why people on the right act quickly in response to these gun-grabbing opportunists. Ahem. They're sick people. They need help. Possibly psychiatric.
Please pray for the families of the victims tonight. As more information becomes available, and we can form concrete opinions on what's what, instead of slapping on our "alleged" stickers, we'll let you know.
