Brian Stelter is still shaking off the embarrassment of getting pantsed by a college student last week. On his own show where he controls his biased narrative, Tater went back to attacking Fox News. Or so he thought. His guest was Yale researcher Joshua Kalla. Kalla conducted a study where he paid Fox News viewers to watch CNN. It's what he calls “partisan coverage filtering.” Turns out people who watch Fox News all the time have a different view of America than those who watch CNN. Stelter was so excited to hear this, I'm sure his underpants got moist.

Then Kalla pointed out that the opposite is also true, that CNN is just as bad when it comes to "partisan coverage filtering." Stelter got bitchy in response.

Missing in this clip is Josh's response to CNN's Genderless Potato Head accusing him of "bothsidesism." That is liberal mediaspeak for when you hold them to any standards. Josh wasn't moved:

"It’s not about what an objective standard is. It’s really about how all networks do engage in this. And in order for viewers to get a realistic picture of the world, we need viewers to see all types of information. And unfortunately, what we find in the study is that the viewers don’t want to engage in watching all sides."

Apropos of nothing:

Stelter is transparent, and he thinks people are dumb enough to not see through him. Joshua even brought up a specific story. The Abraham Accords were a major foreign policy achievement. You wouldn't know that from watching CNN because they were a major foreign policy achievement for Donald Trump. Stelter and his cronies had news to filter in a partisan way while pretending they don't do that. Stelter could have conceded, "I see your point," and then quickly changed the topic. Instead, he whined.

The solution? People need to turn off the TV once in a while. Cable news was never meant to be watched in five-hour blocks. And once hacks like Brian Stelter turned it into professional wrestling, where he spends more time criticizing his competitor than on his own content, the genre grew even more useless.
