TRADE DEALS: British Foreign Secretary 'Very Optimistic' About Working With Trump
Across the pond, Britain is still working things out with the EU. Mostly by telling the Union to sod off in between bouts of tea time (see Bank of England: The European Union, NOT Britain, Will Suffer From #Brexit...). Can you blame them? Negative. Leavers are sick of being stomped on by the European conglomerate of crapweasels. Speaking of which, that brings us to one such Leaver, Boris Johnson. He isn't exactly known for making friendlies. Which is why we can appreciate his recent vote of confidence in Donald Trump...
British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson says he's "positive and optimistic" that the polices of newly inaugurated President Donald Trump would work in Britain's favor... once Britain had left the European Union. He says: "I think that the new president has made it very clear that he wants to put Britain at the front of the line for a new trade deal and obviously that's extremely exciting and important."
Remember when news of Trump's election first broke? There was an air of panic regarding financial stability. Courtesy of economists peddling a leftist agenda. As it turns out, professionals predicting economic armageddon were promptly proven waaay wrong. Twas rather embarrassing for them (see Economist Says Market Will Never Recover Under Trump. Dow Hits All Time High SAME DAY!).
Britain underwent a similar phenomenon. When Brexit happened, every liberal and their gay uncle had a conniption. The tales foreboding doom quickly came. But the best part? The economic disaster they insisted would happen never happened (see Post-Brexit, UK's Manufacturing Sector Soars. Value of Pound Rebounds...). Hence all the British economists now backpedaling their anti-Brexitness...
Britain's 'Leave' voters and America's Trump voters share something in common. We both wanted a change from collectivist liberalism. Britain's a bit behind the curve, but they're starting to learn about things like freedom and independence. Striking up a trade deal that benefits us both? Sounds like a good plan.
Look, we don't know how Trump's trade deals are going to pan out. The left is harping on about how Trump's trade deals will be nothing short of the biggest disaster of all the disasters to have ever uglied the earth. As of yet, it's too early to tell definitively. But what we do know? Leftists are super duper good at being wrong. They were wrong about Brexit and they were wrong about Trump. They tend to be a bit out of touch with the populace.
While liberals are busy lighting dumpsters aflame, Trump's administration is doing actual things (see PROGRESS: Trump Removes 'Climate Change' Page From White House Website!). You know, like not starting dumpster fires...
