Bud Light Workers Set To Strike: “There Won’t Be Any Beer Come March”
Going woke is a personal problem. We all know how Bud Light often suffers from its demise. And the problem with being woke is that you often go broke. One reason for this is that you can never be woke enough. The pendulum is always swinging further and further to the left.
When you have a woke company that tries to push leftist ideology onto the masses, don’t come crying to the other side when you inevitably cast your downfall.
Thousands of workers at Anheuser-Busch’s breweries are threatening to strike and are saying "there won’t be any beer come March” if there is not an agreement on contract negotiations.
According to The Post Millennial:
“Thousands of workers at 12 of Anheuser-Busch’s US breweries are threatening to strike over contract disagreements on job security and improvements in benefits and retirement, saying ‘there won’t be any beer come March.’
5,000 workers represented by Teamsters voted by 99 percent last month to authorize a strike, according to the Guardian.
Teamsters wrote on X earlier in January, ‘Without a contract by February 29, there won’t be any beer come March.’ They will strike ‘if this multibillion-dollar corporation fails to deliver a fair contract.’”
The fact that Anheuser-Busch is unionized has nothing to do with the company itself, rather they are technically at the behest of its woke workers. But no one should care if there is no Bud Light in March. We should be happy because of that.
"Following a disastrous sales slump in the wake of a marketing promotion with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney, Bud Light lost millions in sales, billions in market cap, and its top standing as the number one sold beer in the US.
The marketing partnership backfired so dramatically that it brought down total beer sales in the US."
I think the most interesting part of the beer boycotts is that they pissed off both the right and the left. They pissed off conservatives because they refused to read the room. And they pissed off the left because they were not woke enough. This is why when it comes to business marketing, it is best to stay out of cultural issues or politics.
I am not sure if the union will actually go on strike. I would not be surprised if the company acquiesced to its demands as the last thing it needs is another drop in sales.
I can't stand unions and I can't stand Bud Light. But one side will have to eat its own words. And I have a feeling it won't be those threatening to join the picket line.
