We should say their names since, you know, they ranked higher than third place. But Berry used her third-place finish for a political statement, so she's the topic on everyone's minds. Including California gubernatorial candidate Caitlyn Jenner. A vocal advocate for women's sports.

Jenner is uniquely qualified to speak out. Not many people know this. But before Caitlyn became the beautiful and brave person we see before us, she was a decathlon runner named Bruce. Drawing any comparison to 1972 is a wee bit of a stretch, but Jenner's most valid point is that at the end of the day, this is a non-issue. Berry finished third in the QUALIFYING round. The odds of her pulling a similar stunt during the Olympic medal ceremony are slim to done. It would require her to be a part of the ceremony, which she most likely will not be.

As opposed to DeAnna Price and Brooke Andersen. The two hammer throwers who ranked FIRST and SECOND ahead of Berry.
