California AG: I'll Prosecute Employers Who Work With Immigration Officials
California AG Xavier Becerra is threatening to prosecute any employer who works with immigration officials. It's not enough for Democrats to shut down the government over illegals (see Democrats Okay with Government Shutdown Over 800k Illegal Immigrants and Democrats Threaten Government Shutdown to Save DACA Program). Apparently arresting people for following the law is the new hotness.
The state’s top cop issued a warning to California employers Thursday that businesses face legal repercussions, including fines up to $10,000, if they assist federal immigration authorities with a potential widespread immigration crackdown.“It’s important, given these rumors that are out there, to let people know – more specifically today, employers – that if they voluntarily start giving up information about their employees or access to their employees in ways that contradict our new California laws, they subject themselves to actions by my office,” state Attorney General Xavier Becerra said at a news conference. “We will prosecute those who violate the law.”
Becerra’s warning comes as fears spread of mass workplace raids following reports that immigration agents plan to target Northern California communities for deportations due in part to the state’s “sanctuary” law, which seeks to restrict local law enforcement agencies’ ability to cooperate with immigration authorities.
Ah, so it's not the illegals breaking the law who get Mr. California AG's panties in a twist? Just their employers who have the audacity to tell ICE, "yeah, Juan is over there."
This is where Democrats' priorities are. In the gutter, next to a smelly bum chugging Listerine and ranting about his telepathic connection with Bigfoot. Forget about prosecuting murderers and preventing rapery. Illegals come before everything else. No wonder the sensible half of California is trying to get divorced from the other.
Even by California standards, this is remarkable. If you work with immigration officials, but do so in a way that contradicts California's laws protecting illegals, YOU'RE the one California is going to go after. Leftism at its "finest," folks.
