Christian Student Clubs Regain Equal Treatment After Court Ruling

Christian virtue has prevailed in a battle between San Jose Unified School District and a Christian student athletic club in California that was thrown off campus in 2019 on account of its traditional views on marriage.
In a major blow to the LBGT cult, a federal court delivered the evangelical Fellowship of Christian Athletes [FCA] a decisive win Wednesday, ordering the reinstatement of its chapter at Pioneer High School.
Local Fellowship of Christian Athletes clubs had served students in San Jose high schools for over a decade. In 2019, FCA clubs were removed from San Jose high schools and faced harassment and protests simply because the clubs asked their student leaders to agree with their faith.
The Ninth Circuit ruled that “anti-discrimination laws and the protections of the Constitution work in tandem to protect minority views in the face of dominant public opinion,” and that the District had used a discriminatory “double standard” against FCA that failed to “treat[] FCA like comparable secular groups” and instead “penalized it based on its religious beliefs.”
The Court explained that, just as it makes sense that the “Senior Women club” would have all-female members, or that honors clubs would set standards of “good moral character” for their members, “it makes equal sense that a religious group be allowed to require that its leaders agree with the group’s most fundamental beliefs.”
The Court concluded that “the First Amendment ‘counsel[s] mutual respect and tolerance for religious and non-religious views alike,’” requiring that FCA must be treated equally once again.
One reason the left hate religious freedom is because they think that means religious people get special treatment or rights. But that is not true. Like the court said, religious freedom prevents the cultural majority from imposing its power or beliefs on others. This protection goes both ways.
Another reason the left hates religion is because they can’t control people who have values and live by faith. But the problem is that religion is a major cornerstone in providing a sense of identity. That is why the left is constantly adding a million different identities to its woke encyclopedia. Human nature and religion go hand in hand.
This is why the school district could not have a Christian club that believes in the traditional view of marriage. You can’t go against their identity because then you go against their religion.
