California Wastes Millions on 'Eco-Friendly' Patrol Cars. The Police Response is Priceless!
California officials tend to struggle with managing money. They prefer handing it out to illegals, wasting it on socialism, dumping it into a fiery pit of lava by the billions. Typical antics of the Golden State!
Another one of their epic wastes of taxpayer money? Green cars for the police. Yes, "green" as in "Green Priuses with coexist bumper stickers in the parking lot of Whole Foods are commonly used as a mating call for gay liberals."
Yeah, the cops weren't thrilled.
It appears that the Los Angeles Police Department likes the idea of electric vehicles, but its officers don’t actually enjoy driving them. The discovery is a major flop for the California city, where local leaders have spent millions in an effort to turn the government more green. The contract will ultimately cost the city a total of $10.2 million, including charging stations.
The report discovered, through department records, that many of the electric cars are sitting around going unused, having only driven a few hundred miles despite the LAPD leasing them over a year ago.
Investigators did find one LAPD commander using the BMW electric vehicle — driving to a nail salon to get a manicure. The officer did not appear enthused to talk to the media.
Just what I feared. It's already turning them gay.
Apparently the wimpling cars are only good for trips to the salon. Not so much keeping up with criminals during a car chase. Turns out "green energy" can only take one so far. The police won't be able to catch bad guys, but at least there's a little less smog in the air!
The underlying problem with the electric vehicles? They can only go 80 to 100 mph on a charge — an obvious problem for law enforcement.Miles logged with the LAPD reveal what critics of the electric vehicle plan have argued, that officers have no desire to drive cars that can’t reach speeds that are sometimes necessary to do their job.
So, definitely not the response the LAPD was hoping for from its officers. Can't say I blame them for not wanting to put these douche wagons to use though. They have no place in the field. Or the parking lot. Or anyone's driveway.
Jack Humphreville, a Los Angeles government watchdog for CityWatch, argued the plan was simply for show. “It just doesn’t make any sense,” Humphreville said.“If they’re going to be using $10 million of our money, or basically leasing $10 million of equipment, they ought to have a d— plan,” he added. “Isn’t that just a tremendous waste of money?”
Yes. Yes it is. Climate friendly policies tend to be on the side of money wastage (see Climate Change Funding is Epic 'Waste of Taxpayer Money.' Says Trump's Budget Director!). Also, as aforementioned, California doesn't care about handling its money wisely. It has other priorities, simpleton. You have to burn some green to make some green [energy]. Or something.
Eco friendliness is a tedious subject. Educate yourself by watching the video below.
