Is anybody else really hoping California gets struck by a meteor and sinks into the Pacific? Then they'd finally get the #CalExit they've wanted so badly. Enjoy the marine life. If you don't already have enough reasons to hate the great Golden State (because yeah their taxes suck but they still have, like, beaches and In 'N Out), here's one more sucky little California thing to add to the list. California just voted to become a sanctuary state for illegals.

And all the unmowed lawns rejoiced:

In a last minute vote early on Saturday, California's legislature voted to approve a bill that would limit police cooperation with federal immigration authorities, according to multiple reports.

California's Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown is expected to sign the legislation.

If you're familiar with California's huge list of sanctuary cities you may be wondering what exactly is changing here. After all, there are already hundreds of Home Depot parking lots full of illegal immigrants. Here's some clarity.

The California Values Act would forbid state and local law enforcement agencies from providing information to or acting as the deputies for federal immigration authorities. The bill also prohibits police and sheriff officers from inquiring about a person's immigration status.

"This bill ... helps some of us to believe that California is a safe place for immigrants, that we are a Golden State," said Democratic Assemblyman Joaquin Arambula, the grandson of immigrants who came to California illegally.

They're calling it the California Values Act. Clearly California values criminals over safety, law and order. I'm sure Joaquin "Anchor Baby" Arambula is just jazzed about this. But the bill makes the entire state LESS safe for everybody, illegals included. It helps to protect violent illegal criminals by making ICE's job even harder, which is why many law enforcement officials are speaking out against this action.

[It did not] win support from the California State Sheriff's Association. "Our overarching concern remains that limiting local law enforcement's ability to communicate and cooperate with federal law enforcement officers endangers public safety," the group said in a statement.

If the sheriffs see an issue with this, that should tell you something. Red flags everywhere. It's like California saw New York's recent bill and had a hold my beer moment (see NY Governor Cuomo Signs Order Banning Officers from Asking About Immigration Status). Clearly leftist states have an illegal immigrant fetish. Fine. Let them serve as an example to the rest of the country. Hopefully America can learn from their mistakes. Also hopefully In 'N Out flees this leftist pit of hell and creates some eastern locations.
