Camille Paglia is an old school feminist and melter of liberal faces. You may be familiar with her from classic moments such as REAL Feminist Camille Paglia Calls Out Modern Feminists: 'Stop blaming men!' and Camille Paglia: 'Hillary Clinton is Soulless, Corrupt...'

She sat down to an email interview with Standard publication to discuss the modern, uncomfortably hairy phenomenon of transgenderism. Wimpish trannies be warned, she pulled no punches:

I am highly skeptical about the current transgender wave, which I think has been produced by far more complicated psychological and sociological factors than current gender discourse allows. Furthermore, I condemn the escalating prescription of puberty blockers (whose long-term effects are unknown) for children. I regard this practice as a criminal violation of human rights.

Camille isn't over exaggerating. Puberty blockers are verifiably harmful to children. Yet "open-minded" groups are pushing them on kids as if they're brightly wrapped succulents (see NY Medicaid to Cover 'Puberty Blockers,' Transgender Surgery for Kids).

It is certainly ironic how liberals who posture as defenders of science when it comes to global warming (a sentimental myth unsupported by evidence) flee all reference to biology when it comes to gender.

The cold biological truth is that sex changes are impossible. Every single cell of the human body remains coded with one's birth gender for life. In a democracy, everyone, no matter how nonconformist or eccentric, should be free from harassment and abuse. But at the same time, no one deserves special rights, protections, or privileges on the basis of their eccentricity. I reject state-sponsored coercion to call someone a "woman" or a "man" simply on the basis of his or her subjective feeling about it.

Kudos to Camille. Meandering into these troubled waters is no easy undertaking. With all that anatomical accuracy, her words are sure to spark rage from her scientifically challenged counterparts. I can already hear them stomping their cloven hooves.

It's too late for the left to save face. Those who care about human welfare will speak up in defense of children, as Camille did. Those who care about peddling an agenda will continue spouting biological falsehoods and fairy tales (see PROGRESS:NatGeo Goes Full Crazy, Pushes Child Transgender 'Revolution'). While claiming to love science. It's like a knock-knock joke where the guy opening the door gets shot in the face.

Pumped full of the wrong hormones and preventing puberty have lasting damage. But saying so will get you banished from modern society. A small price to pay for cretins like NatGeo (or Bill Nye) to fully achieve a reputation of "tolerance and progress." Words almost as meaningless as the fake vagina carved into Bruce Jenner's no-no region.
