Wow. They must have been really desperate to walk all that way in flip-flops.
According to the New York Post:
A new caravan of at least 1,500 migrants formed in southern Mexico on Wednesday — with some openly admitting they were desperate to cross into the US before President-elect Donald Trump takes office.
The migrants — mainly from Central and South America and including large numbers of young children — began marching from the city of Tapachula near the Guatemalan border, where thousands of migrants have been stranded after being stopped by Mexican authorities from going farther.
“It is going to be more difficult, that’s why we are going in hopes of getting an appointment quicker so we are able to cross before he (Trump) takes office,” said Yotzeli Peña, 23, one of many migrants from Venezuela in the caravan. “That would be easier.”
When I think of desperate asylum seekers I would never imagine people in nice clothes who have cell phones but I guess that’s the status quo. And for walking from Guatemala, Venezuela, and other parts of Central America, they don’t look tired!
Additionally, none of them look malnourished so it’s unclear why they are so desperate to come here.
The migrants have been largely unable to support themselves in Tapachula, a city of about 350,000, and have decided to risk the nearly 1,100-mile trek through nearly the entirety of Mexico to reach the nearest crossing at Matamoros, across the Rio Grande from Brownsville, Texas.
If they are unable to support themselves in Tapachula then they certainly cannot do it here. This means they are coming here for free things, not because they wish to seek employment opportunities or anything that would be beneficial for America. They believe the government will hand them anything and everything solely because they have broken Mexican immigration laws and American immigration laws. And because of that, these people have no place in American society and should never be allowed in.
Trump needs to send another warning to Mexico, as none of this would be possible without them turning a blind eye to the destruction their cartel overlords benefit from.
